Georgia Pacific-Wauna Paper Mill donates $20K in paper products to United Way

ASTORIA – Georgia Pacific-Wauna Paper Mill in Clatskanie donated 500 cases of napkins, valued at $20,000, to United Way of Clatsop County. They will be distributed to a variety of social service agencies. The agencies UWCC financially supports have first choice.

The following have requested 322 of the cases: Women’s Resource Center, Restoration House, United Way Office, Camp Kiwanilong, Clatsop Community Action, The Healing Circle-(VOCA), Clatsop Community Action, Clatsop CASA Program, American Red Cross, Lives In Transition.

In addition to the UWCC agencies some have been earmarked for use by the Student Government Association at Tongue Point Job Corps and some for various uses by UWCC a total of 422 cases. The balance may be used to help with the Holiday Baskets later this year.

Until the remaining cases are distributed the Bank of Astoria has graciously offered to store the napkins in their Astoria Branch basement.

The mission of United Way of Clatsop County is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of Clatsop County Communities. Contributions are used to aid local needs.
