UWCC Board of Directors 2025

Executive Officers

President: Kelsey Hix, AAA Oregon

As a proud Clatsop County native and a team member at AAA Oregon, where community is a core value, I’m dedicated to giving back to the place that shaped me. My focus is on supporting initiatives that uplift and empower local residents.

Treasurer: Leo Piza, TEAM Astoria

I began working with the local employment agency, TEAM in 2020. In my short time with TEAM, I have been exposed to the shortage of many resources in our community. For this reason, we began a program in 2021 called TEAM Tools for life. We assisted with simple things like laundry services, nutrional meals, ID replacements, job placements, and more. With this simple program we were able to change the lives of a handful of people. Unfortunately, we were unable to continue TEAM Tools for life as it was privately funded by the owner of the company. Now it is 2023, I manage the local branch, and I’ve found a sustainable avenue to bridge the gaps in our community by partnering with United Way of Clatsop County. I look forward to paving the way for better tomorrow.

Secretary: Cathy Jo Kirkpatrick, Alexandroff Dental,  Independent Arbonne Consultant

I’ve greatly enjoyed volunteering in my community, starting at an early age. I do what I can to give back and serve others. Volunteering in schools and working in dental hygiene over the years, I’ve seen the effects of neglect, especially on children. My mission is to lock arms with others and offer hope, health, love, support, and empower children, teens, and adults to know they are deserving of love, proper nutrition, and safety and break the cycle they may have been born into. Together, we can live united and make a difference and create a ripple effect of change in the world.

Board Members

Beverly Selga, Director of Surgical Services, Columbia Memorial Hospital

I recently relocated to Astoria from the Seattle area to work at Columbia Memorial Hospital as the Director of Surgical Services.  The mission, vision and values of CMH is what attracted me to the organization.  I have been involved in non-profit work surrounding remedying food insecurity for the past 20 years, whether it was preparing nutritious meals for delivery, delivering meals to those in need or working with the local food pantry preparing and serving weekly hot dinners.  Being a part of the CCUW is a great way to become involved in my new community and help to continue the good work that is made possible by supporting other non-profits on the North Coast.

Nichelle Wickstrom, Imaging Services Manager, Columbia Memorial Hospital

I believe in the power of community and strive to create lasting positive change through both professional and volunteer efforts. Through my role in healthcare leadership as the Imaging Services Manager for Columbia Memorial Hospital, I work to promote equity, inclusion, and a more compassionate, supportive environment for our community. I am drawn to the United Way because of their dedication to vulnerable populations and their collaboration with other community organizations.
